Vacuum Excavation

General Corrosion Corporation owns and operates a VacMaster 4000 Excavator and has used it extensively in the downtown areas for:  anode installation, reference cell installation, utility locating, facility exposure for coating inspection, gas and watermain service terminations and installations and environmental soil sampling.  Additional uses for vacuum excavation include:  valve box cleaning and excavation and pipe recoating at soil to air interfaces.  Vacuum excavation allows crews to use air 95% of the time with water available if necessary, digs faster than water in most soils and will excavate through ground frost.  Collected spoils remain dry for fast backfilling and the unit allows operation up to 200 feet away for areas that are difficult to access.
